I joined the practice in 2004 after working for three years in New Zealand and two years in County Durham as a GP. Prior to this I was based in the Newcastle area doing a variety of hospital and GP jobs, getting to know the area after my time at university in Newcastle.

I feel very lucky to be living and working in North Northumberland, and enjoy trying to see what health care we can offer people who come through our doors and those we see at home, to keep them healthy and treat them locally if they are unwell. We are supported by good hospitals in the area, and I would like to see continued services available at both Alnwick and Berwick in the future.

I have special interests in Dermatology Diabetes and Research. I work in the dermatology department of Newcastle Hospitals, I organise clinical research in the area to improve what we do. I support things behind the scenes in some areas of Mental Health and Learning Disability.

I came to the practice in January 1997, having been to medical school in Cardiff and worked in South Wales for a few years before completing my GP training in the Outer Hebrides in Scotland. I have always been very committed to working in rural General Practice. My strengths are in female health and family planning, but I also really enjoy the opportunity to care for whole families from the very young to the elderly.

I am a GP Trainer which means I have responsibility for mentoring and teaching the GP Registrars who spend 6 months in the practice. I am also a GP Appraiser which involves supporting other Northumberland GPs in their career development and ensuring safe practice.

I am currently working 3 days a week. In my spare time I enjoy being out and about in our lovely countryside with my family and dog.

I studied Medicine at Newcastle University before training in hospitals and GP practices around the North East. Prior to working for Belford Medical practice I was a salaried GP at Berwick. My interests include Dermatology (skin problems), diet/lifestyle and use of complementary medicine, and medical education.

Outside work, I enjoy walking, gardening, photography and the occasional night out dancing Salsa and Ballroom!

I started working in the practice in August 2015 as a salaried GP. Prior to this I spent six months as a registrar at the practice and thoroughly enjoyed my experience. I graduated from the medical school at Newcastle University in 2010. I have always wanted to work as a rural GP and Northumberland is a very beautiful area to work in. I also work in minor injuries two days a week which is comes in useful when working in a rural area.

I currently work 2 days a week and in my spare time I enjoy walking, arts and crafts and spending time with family and friends.
